Don’t battle your problem. Nurture your self.
— Viola Fodor

When most people seek the help of a counsellor or therapist, they are usually looking to fix or get rid of their problem. Understandably so – these problems are painful.

Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, an addiction, low self-esteem, high-level stress or any other inner pain, chances are that you’ve already tried several ways to “battle” your problem.

Instead of seeing these problems as evils that we need to fight off, what if we could see them as signs? Signs that we are meant to be paying closer attention to how we are living and who we really are on the inside. In this light, you may begin to see that you don’t have to battle your problem, all you have to do is start to nurture your true self. Working on this inner level is not a fight at all. It is natural, simple and the foundation for lasting, true healing. When you start to listen to your self, you open yourself up to a more philosophical and purposeful way of experiencing life.

I understand how truly painful it is to live with the kinds of problems listed above, and I recognize the necessity and urgency for healing. Whether you have been trying to find a way to make genuine, meaningful change for years now or you are new to therapy and are looking for a unique approach to help yourself, I welcome the opportunity to explore your options for getting well.
